DOES UNPLUGGING APPLIANCES WHEN GOING AWAY REALLY SAVE ENERGY?
Sep 12th
Question by harlowtoo:
Does unplugging appliances when going away really save energy?
I have heard that you can save on your energy bill by unplugging such things as computers, TV’s, & major appliances (no, not fridge or freezer!) if you are going to be away from home for awhile. Does anyone know if this is true, what kind of savings are we speaking here? Also, would really like links to any sites that discuss such things. (Please do not just tell me to Google it, I know that much already.) Thanks!

DOES UNPLUGGING A LAMP OR A BOW FAN REALLY SAVE ELECTRICITY?
Jul 9th
Question by jennifer:
Does unplugging a lamp or a bow fan really save electricity?
I know that massive household appliances and devices that are automatically on (like a dvd player) use electricity while plugged in while turned off. But what about the smaller things? If a lamp or a box fan is plugged in and off, is it using electricity?
Would it be save money on my electric bill to unplug these items absolutely when not in use?
