In Star Wars A New Hope, when the x-wings and y-wings go on their attack runs for the generator, why are they in trios? Why not have one go in and the other two fly overhead to protect against Tie Fighters? It just doesnt make sense, since they all get shot down easily (with the exception of Wedge)

I am going to be buying a condo, which means I have to purchase new appliances. I have been looking at prices on the web for fridges, dishwashers, stoves, washer/dryers….
How much money would I save if I purchase energy star appliances (fridge, dishwasher, dryer)? Is it worth shelling out the extra bucks for these appliances? They are at least 200$ more costly than the “regular” appliances.
