I do not want to replace my christmas tree and it’s pre-lit! I would like the led bulbs though. Can I switch out my normal bulbs with led bulbs, or is the cord made for a special amount of current to run through it? Where could I get the bulbs only if I wanted to?

There are four colors that light two at a time but only three wires.
I was considering taking a bulb(diode) from the end of the string and soldering its leads together, then replacing the one that seems to be out further up the line. Just not sure if this will unbalance anything.
