IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONSTRUCT A $100 WIND TURBINE AND FROM IT OBTAIN THE EQUIVALANT OF ONE GALLON GASOLINE?
Nov 5th
Question by Wm:
Is it possible to construct a 0 wind turbine and from it obtain the equivalant of one gallon gasoline?
I was discussing with an adversary of mine the possibility of this. I think it is possible over a period of time for a small wind generator to produce the same amount of energy that a gallon of gas will produce.
I saw a homemade wind turbine done with 50 gallon drums on Youtube. It was very practical and simple to build. My question is. What is the length of time that it would take to generate the same amount of energy from a gallon of gasoline?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE WIND ENERGY FOR EVERYTHING?
Oct 9th
Question by :
Is it possible to use wind energy for everything?
If you had a wind turbine installed on your property, is it possible for that to be your only source of energy? I am including electricity, water, and heat. I would still have a backup of something, though, just in case.

BUILDING UNDERFLOOR HEATING USING A “POWER SHOWER” – POSSIBLE OR NUTS?
May 24th
It’s just an idea, but would not this work: My home is built on pillars, and skirting closes the space underneath it off. I want to weld up a meandering system of pipes in a shut loop, filled with water; and somewhere in the loop, I would install an instant water heater. That heater would heat up the water and keep it pumping around, and since the intake water temperature would be rising ever higher, it could probably run on very tiny energy – maybe low enough to be fed only with a 400W wind turbine?
I’d love to hear your view on this. I know nothing about plumbing or heating, but I am an adventurous guy and will try this sort of stuff unless somebody advises me otherwise – so, if you think I shouldn’t try this, would you please let me know ans also tell me why?
Thanks so much.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO “WARM UP” THE LIGHT ON LED LANDSCAPE LIGHTING?
May 24th
I’m considering replacing my halogen landscape lighting with LED but worry the light will be too blue/white. I like the warm, soft white of the halogens, but like how energy efficient the LED bulbs are. Is there a way I could filter the LED bulbs to make them light less blue/white? Perhaps there is some sort of colored, transparent film to put over the bulb that someone could suggest?

my thought is that most solar panels charge battery then you use an inverter to produce the 110 volts.
