I had solar plastic installed in a sun room, temperature was about 10 degrees less during the day. It also helps a bit in winter as it reflects the heat back into the room. Solar screening also works for those windows you do not want to use the solar shield on.

Weedeater does not crack, break or mess them up. I purchased another set too. I really cannot think of any cons so far, except I wish they came with more lighted bricks.
