I would like to know whether I need to turn off my printer and monitor even if they have energy saving mode? I know that some web sites recommend turn them off when not in use. I would like to know how much I waste if I let my monitor/printer be in the energy saving mode?

Considering that high-def tv’s with the energy star consume 30% less energy, will using the energy save option on a regular basis also increase the life-span of the tv before it loses half it’s brightness? I was told that newer tv’s usually last 60,000-100,000 hours before fading. Thanks!

What is energy save mode do when selected on an air conditioner?
I have a Sharp 10000 BTU air conditioner that i purchased used. I do not have the manuel for it so i dont know what it does.
So does setting the air conditioner on energy save mode really save energy? And how does it work?
Also it is 97 degrees this day and VERY humid. So what temperature do you think i should set it as to be comfortable and save energy?
