Q&A: DO THE NEW ENERGY SAVING LIGHTBULBS WORK WITH DIMMER SWITCHES?
Aug 26th
Question by Anne:
Do the new energy saving lightbulbs work with dimmer switches?
I’d like to switch but most of my light switches have dimmer switches on them.
Will this make the bulb buzz? Do they make these bulbs in a 3 way style since I have many 3 way lights as well?
Also I have quite a few IKEA ceiling light fixures that use bulbs with narrow stems, do they make energy savers like that?
Do you have a brand of bulb to advocate over any others?
I watched Al Gore’s “Live Earth” concert and went on line and promised I’d switch some of my bulbs now I need help inplementing the plan!

Q&A: DOES REMOVING LIGHTBULBS SAVE ENERGY?
Jun 20th
Question by Jacques:
Does removing lightbulbs save energy?
When I turn on the lightswitch in my bedroom, three lightbulbs light up.
If I remove one of them, would I be saving energy?
I think that if I take one out, I would still be using the same amount of energy, but the only change would be a dimmer room.
Correct me if I am wrong.

DO ENERGY SAVING LIGHTBULBS TAKE MORE ENERGY TO MANUFACTURE?
Oct 13th
Question by Jay Arthur:
Do energy saving lightbulbs take more energy to manufacture?
I heard that the production of an energy saving lightbulb takes up more energy / resources than when making a conventional bulb. I just wondered if this was true. Even if it is, surely the reduction in energy consumed over the lifespan of the energy saving bulb would more than outweigh any extra used in making it?
