WHY DOESN’T THE GOVERNMENT BAN STANDARD LIGHT BULBS AND FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY ENERGY SAVING ONES?
Aug 13th
Question by ©:
Why doesn’t the government ban standard light bulbs and force people to purchase energy saving ones?
I’m reffering to any government, US, UK, whichever you want to comment on.
If the entire UK switched to energy saving bulbs it would save 20% of total energy consumption and remove the need to build new nuclear power stations. Why do not they just make energy wasting bulbs illegal?
I dopn’t think just saying we live in a free world explains it, after all, leaded petrol is banned (is here anyway), as well as many other environmental protection laws.

ARE LIGHT, SOUND, HEAT, WIND, FOOD DIGESTION, THOUGHTS, ALL FORMS OF ENERGY OR DO THEY ALL ENERGY PRODUCING?

Question by Dr Peace:
Are light, sound, heat, wind, food digestion, thoughts, all forms of energy or do they all energy producing?
Are light, sound, heat, wind, food digestion, thoughts, all forms of energy or do they all energy producing?
Also, it is possible that a form of energy (Wind) that produces energy (wind energy that produces electricity) could produce a waste byproduct that could then be used as another form of energy? The heat produced by wind energy propellers/turbines, could then be converted into a form a solar energy?

FLORESCENT ENERGY SAVING LIGHT BULBS AND DISPOSING OF THEM?
Aug 6th
Question by Somewhere:
Florescent energy saving light bulbs and disposing of them?
People have been saying that the energy efficient light bulbs have mercury in them and should be taken back to a hardware store, like ace hardware or Lowe’s or home depot, when they finally blow out. Is this true? My bulbs are rounding out to their six year life and I have two bulbs I have been holding onto that are blown and I am not sure of how to dispose of them. Do I take them to a store so they can dispose of them or can I just toss them in the garbage like you do with other blown bulbs?

IS THERE ANY WAY TO TELL HOW MUCH LIGHT A SOLAR PANEL IS RECEIVING?
Jun 28th
Question by Addicted To Coke:
Is there any way to tell how much light a solar panel is receiving?
For my science fair project I am building a solar powered BEAM bot from a kit I am going to order online. For my experiment I was going to expose the BEAM bot to three different light sources to see which one worked best. So I just wanted to know if I would be able to determine how much light the solar panel on the BEAM bot is receiving.
