<p><i>Answer by rhsaunders</i><br/>Very little.  What this does is to reduce the fan speed, and with the motor turning more slowly, it will draw less power.  But the huge power hog is the compressor motor, which will be running any time that the thermostat is asking for more cooling.  Which means that the warmer you can stand, the less power it will draw.</p>

Compare rate and time of day/demand pricing. Like anything else, it is possible to save money you just have to educate yourself so you know if it is a good deal or not.
