BUILDING UNDERFLOOR HEATING USING A “POWER SHOWER” – POSSIBLE OR NUTS?

It’s just an idea, but would not this work: My home is built on pillars, and skirting closes the space underneath it off. I want to weld up a meandering system of pipes in a shut loop, filled with water; and somewhere in the loop, I would install an instant water heater. That heater would heat up the water and keep it pumping around, and since the intake water temperature would be rising ever higher, it could probably run on very tiny energy – maybe low enough to be fed only with a 400W wind turbine?
I’d love to hear your view on this. I know nothing about plumbing or heating, but I am an adventurous guy and will try this sort of stuff unless somebody advises me otherwise – so, if you think I shouldn’t try this, would you please let me know ans also tell me why?
Thanks so much.

ALTERNATIVE TO NATURAL GAS FOR HEATING IN NYC?

I live in an apartment in West Harlem, and have switched to wind power for electricity, and am wondering if there is any way to switch to electricity for heating as well (both for the floorboard heaters and for water heating).

We have an in-apartment water heating system powered by natural gas. I was wondering if there is anyway to switch to electric water heating without violating the terms of our lease (which does not provide for us ripping out the water heater and gas piping:).

Any help would be appreciated.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO SAVE ENERGY ON HEATING BILL?

I asked this question a couple of days ago, but I am not 100% satisfied with the answers I received. I am not sure if everyone understood the question. So here it goes again. Thanks in advance for answering.

What is the BEST method for saving gas on your utility bill…a) setting the thermostat at a CONSTANT temperature (doesn’t matter the degrees) ALL DAY…or…b) using the SETBACK method and have the thermostat AUTOMATICALLY drop the temperature 6-8 degrees when I am at work/sleeping/etc and then RAISE it back when I am awake or come home?

The setback method happens automatically, everyday. I do not touch the thermostat. It’s programmed and left alone.

In the SUMMER, experts and research states it’s cheaper to set the temperature at ONE SETTING and LEAVE IT ALONE, no matter if you are at work or sleeping. So why is it different for the winter, with the invention of the newer, programmable thermostats?

I hope to get some real good answers, and maybe some proof. Thanks.

HAS ANYONE USED A SOLAR HEATING PANEL SYSTEM WITH AN INTEX POOL AND FILTER? DO THEY WORK?

Pool store personnel state the solar panel systems will not work because the Intex pool filters will not push enough water thru the system.

WHICH IS MORE ENERGY EFFICENT, TANKLESS WATER HEATER OR SOLAR HEATING?

i am having trouble deciding which is better. tankless water heaters are turned on only when i need hot water, but solar heating preheats the water with solar energy. I know there is no heat loss for the tankless and it saves more space.
