Does it actually save electricity to leave the heat on all the time?
As opposed to having the heat come on and off periodically during the day, does it actually save the required start-up energy to leave the heat on all the time? Is it true that the energy required to begin up the heat several times a day is more than leaving it on all the time?
I’ve heard this, but I have never found any proof of this despite some searching. Does anyone have any information?

I was shocked when I saw my propane bill for 4.65 a gallon. My home has propane heating and I have been keeping my heat at 62 to save energy, but I was wondering if it actually spends more gas, for it is turning on pretty often. Would it be superior to keep it at 65? thank you.

I am energy conscience but we all need some light in the room, but even the “energy saving” lightbulbs makes the room so hot! Is there a bulb that is not so hot?
Also, the 40 watt energy savers always seem to be more costly than the 60 watt bulbs. Why?

When I not at home, should I turn off my heat pump to save electricity? I am confused, because many people are saying that by turning off my heat pump, I will not be able to save any electricity as
auxillary heat which is an electric heat will come into action when I will again turn on my heat pump.
