IS IT GOOD TO TURN YOUR AC COMPLETELY OFF WHILE YOU ARE GONE FOR THE DAY TO SAVE ENERGY?

We live in Texas where it gets pretty hot. We will be gone for 11+ hours during the day to come home and it’s 83 degrees in the house. Would not it take up more energy to cool the home back down?
IS THIS A GOOD WAY TO SAVE ENERGY?
Jan 9th
I have started soaking my clothes in the washer instead of letting them agitate (I let the washer fill and agitate a tiny to mix up the detergent with the clothes). I let them soak for a few hours or overnight and then agitate them for about one minute, then I let them spin for about half the time before the rinse cycle, and let the rinse and spin cycle go normally.
I only use about half as much detergent as recommended, and add about an ounce of bleach to each load.
After the washer stops, I open the lid and “fluff” the clothes and let them air dry for a couple of hours before I put them in the dryer.
Are my clothes getting clean? Anybody have tips to save more energy aroung the house?
WHAT IS A GOOD TYPE OF SOLAR PANEL TO GET FOR MY HOUSE?
Jan 8th
I want to put a solar panel(s) on my roof. What components do I need besides the solar panels? solar power controller? wires? How do I hook it into my home’s electrical system and about how much electricity could I generate and save? Would the panels pay for themselves over time? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!
