DOES IT HELP SAVE ON THE ENERGY BILL BY TURNING THE OFFICE THERMOSTAT UP OR DOWN BEFORE EMPLOYEES LEAVE?
Oct 20th
Question by ParkerSpain:
Does it help save on the energy bill by turning the office thermostat up or down before employees leave?
This is a recurring debate in our office. I state keeping the thermostat on a steady temp. is more efficient. Others think that by making sure the heat or AC does not cut on over the weekends or at night is most efficient. For example, for AC, this would be changing the thermo. from 75 to 80 to save energy. Doesn’t that mean that the units just have to work harder to get the temp. back to 75 when the employees come back to work?

DOES IT SAVE MORE ENERGY TO LOG OFF MY COMPUTER FOR THE NIGHT OR SHUTTING IT DOWN AND REBOOTING IT?
Jul 24th
Question by Angel:
Does it save more energy to log off my personal for the night or shutting it down and rebooting it?
Some of my friends state that I should just log off and never turn my personal off if I want to save energy. But shouldn’t turning off my personal use less energy…? They think that restarting it in the morning will use a lot more energy. Is this true?

WOULD IT SAVE ENERGY IF I TURNED THE CENTRAL AIR DOWN LOW AND HAD FANS CIRCULATING?
Jul 17th
Question by two_kee_kees:
Would it save energy if I turned the central air down low and had fans circulating?
I am trying so hard to keep my bills down. Would it save much energy if I turned my A/C down to about 74 or 76 and then had my ceiling fan on high in the living room and a circulating fan upstairs? (I live in a smaller townhouse). Or is that defeating the purpose?

DO LOCAL POWER COMPANIES REMOVE TREES THAT FALL DOWN DURING HIGH WINDS?
Apr 15th
Yesterday where I live, a tree fell down during some high winds blocking the driveway that leads to my neighbor’s house. It’s up to me to call the power company about it (the neighbor works and doesn’t have time to call) but since it did not knock down any wires I do not think they would do it. Would they do it if I call them or would I have to call my local fire department or municipal building about it so it can be removed in a timely fashion?

I want to utilize existing power of stream if possible. Maybe a wind turbine is also a possibility. I am in the middle of lots of trees so solar power is probably only available in winter.
