Will I save money on electricity if I do not replace a light bulb?
I have a lighting fixture above the lavatory sink with three light bulbs in it. Two have burnt out. Before I replace them, I want to know, theoretically, if I will save money on electricity by using only the remaining one. Does the unit pull less electricity if one of its bulbs is burnt out? Or does it pull the same amount of electricity each time the switch is “on,” no matter what?

Using a fluorescent lamp and a Van de Graaff generator.
1) Why does the fluorescent lamp glow when put near the generator?
2) Why does the tube not glow as brightly when positioned tangential to the surface of the dome?
