I am working on a desert wasteland reclamation project and need a technology to use windpower to pump fresh (read brackish) water from very deep boring. There is no electricity and the community involved is too poor to pay for any costly technology. But there are good mechanics who can make a suitable wind turbine pump if someone provides drawings/details.
One possible solution is Rotary Borehole Pump. But we do not know how to make it. Can someone help, please?

Can you use a automobile battery for in a solar panel system or do you need a Deep Cycle Battery?
Hi all, I am wondering if you need a deep cycle battery when charging (and using) in a solar panel system. I only am using no more than 20 watts at 12 volts. My plan is to take the solar panel, connect the cords to a charge controller which will light a couple of lights, then attach the battery to the charge controller and power the lights during the night.
So would a regular 12 V automobile battery work for holding this charge or would it not work?

What do I need to use a solar panel to charge a deep cycle battery?
I am looking at buying a 45 watt solar panel and a deep cycle 12 volt battery. I will be using the battery to run D/C lights, so I do not need a A/C power inverter. Do I need to get anything special to hook up between the solar panel to the battery to charge it, or do I just run the wires from the solar panel to the battery?
