IS IT TRUE THAT IF YOU KEEP CERTAIN APPLIANCES UNPLUGGED, THAT YOU’LL SAVE ELECTRICITY/MONEY?

Question by what?:
is it true that if you keep certain appliances unplugged, that you will save electricity/money?
i always keep my toaster, coffee maker, and my blender unplugged b/c i heard that you save electricity/money that way… is this true? why or why not?

DOES IT SAVE ENERGY TO KEEP THE INDOOR TEMPERATURE AT A CERTAIN POINT SO IT DOESN’T DROP TOO LOW?

Does it save energy to keep the indoor temperature at a certain point so it doesn’t drop too low?
I work in a massive building that is energy-inefficient. In the winters the indoor temp drops to about 43 degrees (from 70 during the day). What saves more energy: leaving the heat on overnight to keep the temp stable, or turning it off at night but then cranking it the next day to get it back up to 70? Thanks!
