WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF KRYPTON FLASH LIGHT BULBS VS. REGULAR HALOGEN VS. LED WHEN BUYING A FLASHLIGHT?

I know that LED flashlights are pretty crappy. I heard that Krypton flashlights and Halogen flashlights are about the same and produce the same intensity and range. Is this true? Does anybody have first hand experience?
I know that LED is great as far as battery life but does not have as much candlepower as Halogen or Krypton.
Between Krypton and Halogen, Which has more candlepower?

Recently, I was strolling through Hobby Lobby and noticed the strands of X-MAS LED’s. I was wondering, if I used these to light my home, is it cheaper than the fluorescent bulbs?

Is it superior to purchase a $50 13-watt (100 watt incandescent equivalent) LED bulb or a $ 20 23-watt CFL bulb? I know that the LEDs last much longer and use 10 watts less energy, but is it worth more money up front?
