1 watt=1 joule/second
a joule is the base measurement of energy, so if they have the same wattage they use the same amount of energy.

Whatever is supplying the sorce DC voltage is where you save energy. What is the sorce of the 12V DC? What is the source of the 48V DC? It is the cost of producing the 12 or 48 volts that you need to power the inverter that you must calculate. It does not matter what the output wattage of the inverter is it is what the cost of the input voltage to power the inverter is.

There is no energy savings per inverter input voltage. Only savings there would be is in the size of wire. 12 volts takes larger cables from the battery bank to the inverter. And from the Solar panels to the charge controller. With 48 volts you might be able to get a way with using a 10 awg (good to 30 amps) wire or 8 awg to be on the safe side. 12 volts you would need a pretty large wire with higher cost.
1250 watts divided by 48 volts is 26 amps.
1250 watts divided by 12 volts is 104 amps.
Oh yeah. The 48 volt inverter might cost a little more. So all in all toss a coin and take the one you want to deal with. 12 volt is more common
