These lights simply are not bright enough to be worth while. Certainly not in the kitchen as advertised. One hint: if you do buy these, install them as close to the front of your cabinets as possible. That way the feeble light they produce might actually illuminate your work surface. The motion sensors are just about worthless, too. You have to actually touch the lights for them to come on, and because you are so close, you invariably trigger the dimmer and go right from the brightest setting to the dimmest.
Ever since I purchased this item I’ve been bombarded with “please rate your purchase” spam — at least ten messages! So there you go, here’s your stinking review! You can stop spamming me now!

This light is serving its purpose of getting light into the back corner of our closet but initially we couldn’t keep it stuck to the wall. Love the features – on-off motion sensor, multiple light settings, battery operated, but be warned that you may need to invest in better adhesive.

This product works as described, being super easy to install anywhere. Also, the motion detection mechanism is super slick. The only drawback is that if you are using these for under-kitchen-cabinet lights you should be aware that the beam is quite white, bright & directed. An earlier reviewer noted that you can pop the lens device out of the light and create a more diffuse beam, which is totally true. Nonetheless, often times the desired effect for this application is a somewhat warmer light. Some people have used these in closets and inside cabinets, both of which would be excellent applications. overall recommended, just don’t be surprised by the bright white beam.

I originally bought these to serve as under-cabinet lights, which they were fantastic for… so much so that I bought more to stick in other areas, such as inside some darker storage areas, display cases and in un-lit closets. I’m shocked at just how bright these are! Agree with others that they aren’t really motion detecting… you need to wave your hand under them to turn them on, but honestly, if they turned on for every motion under the kitchen cabinets, it would be annoying. These are perfect for what I need them for!

As noted by others, probably the best of the genre. VERY bright; could use a diffuser and definitely doesn’t need a “dim” setting (hence no “5″ Star), but otherwise well designed and constructed. Has a metal case so is very sturdy, and the magnet attachment is a much better idea than velcro. One of our magnets didn’t stick very well and had to be superglued, but others worked as advertised. Switch requires a little practice, and as stated, should be “wave on, wave off” without the needless intermediate “dim” setting, but overall recommended.
