Question by wilhem: 100wt energy saving bulb in a socket rated for a 60wt standard bulb? My standard ceiling light sockets suggest that I use standard 60 watt bulbs. The cold light of a 60 watt flourescent bulb is just not enough light. Can I use a 75 or 100 watt flourescent bulbs instead. ——————————————

This is a great lamp for interior accent lighting, mood lighting, or something like that. It certainly has its uses. However, dont expect to be able to use it during the day. It simply isnt powerful enough unless you are illuminating the interior of an object with it.
5/5 for doing exactly what I wanted it to do: Change pretty colored light in a dark room to provide ambiance.

I bought this bulb to use as a décor light so it was perfect except for a couple of flaws that made it useless to me. We where impressed at the light output it will not light the room but for atmosphere it is perfect. In fact we had to dim it!
pros:
~Good brightness for a led
~Lots of colors and options
Cons:
~Only 4 colors dim not all of them
~Remote has to be pointed at light to use this is hard if it is in the ceiling or floor you have to walk around the room and turn each on.
~If you have several they all change when you hit the remote and if one misses they are no longer in the same mode.
Can’t put it on a switch comes back on in disco/flash mode. You need to walk around with the remote and point it directly at the light. Standby mode uses power!
If your power blinks or goes out it turns on and you will not know burning power.
Overall this bulb is a good idea with some major flaws. I bought it for a mood light to save power but several times I have come down at night to find it turned on eating my power, so much for saving power with a LED. I would prefer to put it on a wall switch to remedy that issue and not use standby power but the light doesn’t remember the last mode it was in. It might be an ok party light for a occasion now and then but to use in a permanent application it is not good.
I also contacted the seller eagle light he called me back after several days it turns out they are aware of the issues and are in the process of creating a light with power off memory but it will be a while till it is done. I also wrote a review on his site and rated it 2 stars since I felt I had to since it was rated 4.5 stars with what I consider defects it was “submitted for review” and never made it on so I believe his rating might be skewed.

OK, For $30 or so odd bucks this may seem like an expensive light, but between the kick @$$ colors, low power consumption and what one or two of these bad boys can do to enhance any room. Priceless… Next time you go to buy paint at $20/gallon reconsider LED mood lighting.

These are great for mood lighting a movie or for parties. The remote makes it easy to change the color and effect but the bulb isn’t bright enough to work in unless it is directly above the work area.
Have a few in recessed lights for great movie or party lighting
