Question by ColdWarVietnam6070:
What battery is ideal for storing wind generated electricity?

I am wanting to have a wind turbine/wind mill for my home to supplement or replace the grid electricity I use. I see that the winds come and go. So I need to store some amount of the electricity that my wind mill makes. What is the ideal and safest battery I can use? What is its cost? How much energy will it store? What recharge rate does it need? Thanks.

the easiet & cheapest to get are massive lead acid from telephone exchanges or submarines etc.

there is no need to invest in newer technology batteries as space and weight are not such an issue for static instalations. and you will be delivering into a fairly steady load.

safety issues: keep well ventilated when charging; watch out for acid splashes when maintaining;
