I bought this and 2 other LED flashlights and when I got them I took them into a dark room and turned them on. The other 2 LED lights were 3 watt flashlights that were 80 lumens. This is advertised as 5 watt and 100 lumens. Since a battery is 1.5 volts, and this took two AA’s, I was wondering where they would stuff the circuitry to get it to 5 volts. Needless to say in the bathroom the other lights had the same light output. And oddly enough one of the flashlights is identical in almost every way to this one. Take a look for yourself Rayovac HighBeam Flashlight 3 Watt Luxeon LED Flashlight with Batteries. I suggest you save yourself the time and expense and buy that one (it even comes with an identical carrying pouch). Also it is 15 bucks cheaper…

I bought this flashlight after I saw 16 5-star reviews, but by the time I received it, it turned out to be a total disappintment. 1st, it takes some time to figure out the twist switch, it’s so inconvinent that when you want to turn it off, you need to loosen the tail cap, and any time you tuch the cap (push to the front or sideway), it’ll turn the light on, and when you push the button on the tail cap, the whole cap moves with your push. 2nd, the wrist strap attaches on a metal ring around the body close to the tail cap, it’s also so loose even after I turned the tail cap all the way in (which will make the light always on), I figured out that there is no way to fasten it. 3rd, the light is not as good as it said, it is very bright in the middle part, but the middle part is as tiny as a golf ball, and the flood area is not really bright and way too big. 4th, the case comes with it is too short, when you put the flashlight in, you can not close the button, and if you try it too hard, the stripe will push the tail cap and turn on the light, so the battery will run out while it is stored in the case.
I should have paid several bucks more to get a Fenix.
Just realized that the one they sent me has a cree led instead a luxeon rebel, not sure what kind of cree led it is(maybe a Q4)…

This light is excellent for the price and seems to be great quality so far. I am not sure if the output is 100 lumens though. My 80 lumen C4 stinger puts out a brighter light but it cost me $100 dollars with the charger. This one still puts out an excellent light though and considering that it takes AA batteries and cost me only $30 on Amazon, I don’t think there is a better deal out there. My only complaint is that with the original O ring on the tail cap the light would come on by pushing the tail cap side ways or it would have to be so loose it wobbled. I replaced it with one that was slightly larger for 25 cents at the hardware store and I it is very sturdy. Even though I had to do that I am so pleased I think this product still deserves 5 stars.

This is a quality strongly built little light made of a light metal. It has a brilliant light beam for its size. I have an Innova light that I always have loved. But this one, has a much brighter , more pure beam.
TIme will tell if this light will hold up as well. I have just had it for a month, but so far I am amazed and it is very light. Oh and it takes AA batteries. Nice!

I’ve been looking to replace my tactical flashlight that uses expensive “123 lithium batteries. This tactical flash is my answere to all. With affordable “AA” size batteries or rechargable ones, I can use this flashlight more often.Durable alum.case, with carrying pouch that holds extra battery,a wrist strap,w/ belt clip, very versatile. And of course the most important part is the light…very bright compare to the others that cost hundreds of dollars more.I like it so much that Im planning of ordering another one soon.Thank you.
