Easiest way is to keep place warmer in summer. Also look at area around windows for leaks. If it’s an apartment dark drapes will help. If a house try getting shutters. Also look at reducing temp on waterheater.

Use as little electricity as possible, and only use the air conditioner when absolutely necessary.

Turn off lights.
Avoid running fans and AC when you are out.
replace all your older apliences for lower elec. consuming ones.
replace all your light bulbs with whit those low watt ones.
Wash dishes by hand instead of using the dish washer.
If possible sun dry your clothes.

There is several things you can do to save on your energy bill. If you can hang your clothes out to dry that can help some. (My bill went down $50 in one month last year) Try to keep your curtains or blinds closed and keep doors closed. Pretty much just use common sense such as turning out lights in the rooms you are not using and so forth. (Unless you have kids none of this will work. Just kidding.)

change all bulbs to energy saver ones, aircon if needed, avoid frequent use of heat producing devices, clean up your ref from unnecessary stocks.

Where possible lower wattage on bulbs, keep the heat out in the summer using good draperies or better yet use window quilts, good for both sun and cold. Use colder water where possible, insulate the water heater. If you have multiple televisions they draw electricity even when off as do many appliances. try shutting them down with a strip cord if you use them infrequently or removing them altogether. When replacing appliances find models with out automatic features that use electricity, example a coffee pot with a clock. You likely already have a clock in the kitchen or 3.
Shorten shower time. Adjust refrigerator temperatures. plant more trees near your house for shade in summer and for wind break in winter. Spend money on insulation and check to see that window and doors are caulked and seal properly. Line dry.
You can also do multiple things at once when it comes to meals, cook more at once if you are using an oven, make a meal and bake or make multiple meals and use the freezer and microwave to serve later that way you are not preheating more tha you have to.
See if your local utility company has a time of use savings plan, mine require off hours usage for a substantial cost reduction, so we tend to run appliances at off peak hours such as laundry and showers and so on. Also check if the do a household assessment for conservation, insulation and so on.

Ask any known elec engg about cos value of the power supply,it makes a vitial difference in consumption of power if it is for eg:- 0.7 u might lose more thou, u use less and if it is 0.9 or 1 [unity] then u pay for what u use , to get it u might have to use a higher capacity stablizer or better if u go for a ups for the whole house. and the rest is in ur hands how much u use or u frost ur food for a week and use micro oven or grow plants around ur house.
