I picked one of these up after nearly breaking my legs during a fall on a stairway because of the dark. The hostel I was staying in normally has lights but the rowdy guests broke every bulb in the place. I left this out & it worked for a while until some drunk Germans tore it out. Best thing to do is to carry a mini flashlight in instances like that.

It is perfect for what it does. Bright enough to just be able to see what you are doing. I haven’t seen how efficient it is on batteries since I’m on my first set still a few weeks after purchasing. Sensor seems a little off though. It often comes on randomly, even if no one is in the room, no matter where I put it or position it. Perhaps it’s the batteries or maybe I have a ‘presence’ in the house? I will try different batteries eventually to see if that helps.

I don’t know why people degrade a product rating when they simply did not order a product that suits their requirements. This light is not intended to light up a room, it’s designed to let you see your way when no other light is available. What it’s designed to do, it does superbly.
The motion sensor is extremely sensitive and never fails; it doesn’t waste batteries by turning on when other light is available and so the batteries last a long time. It can rest on a table top or hang on a wall with the provided screw. It does take four AA batteries but they last a long time. I have one beside my bed that allows me to get up during the night to make my way to the bathroom without the shock of turning on a bright light. I have another in the bathroom, same reason.
I came back today to order three more, one for my study where I have to cross the room to turn on a light, another for my storage shed, another for my truck cab where the overhead has quit working.
You can get cheaper but not with anywhere near the performance. As you can tell, I’m very pleased with this product and that seldom happens these days so I’m happy to take the time to write a rave review.

I got this light to use on the stairway. It does exactly what I wanted. It is motion activated and comes on only at night. The light is bright enough for us. The light actually sits well on the wooden edge of the stairway and I did not even have to attach it to the wall.

It works and motion detects great. Its just not bright enough for me. I will purchase a 18 luminins led light. This is 3.
